Film Festival: Cinematheque, Vancouver Theatre & SFU
The 14th edition of the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival is pleased to announce its complete 2016 film selection.
More than 60 films will take part in the Festival, highlighting the important presence of Brazilian cinema, as they are our guest country of honour this year. We are also pleased to announce a new section called ¡Activismo!, made up of films that discuss political and social movements in Latin America.
The Vancouver Latin American Film Festival is a registered not-for-profit, charitable organization with the mission to provide a forum for the promotion and exhibition of Latin American cinema in Vancouver. This annual festival encourages dialogue among cultures, and explores and celebrates the art of contemporary Latin American and Latin-Canadian filmmaking.
VLAFF’s mandate is the encouragement and appreciation of motion pictures as a medium of art, information and education.
Since 2003, VLAFF has provided audiences with the unique opportunity to watch inspiring films and interact with guest filmmakers from across Latin America and the diaspora.
